Play through the first few hours of the game and enjoy the neat rogue-like deckbuilder experience whilst it lasts: it's not comming back. There's a dramatic spike in difficulty som 10-ish hours into the game, and whilsts I'm sure someone can be bothered to write an article about how it reflects the story's progression, it doesn't really change the fact that the game went from balanced to suddenly shoving you off your high horse and into the mud. 8/10, play the first 10 hours, leave the game and don't look back
