STRAFE: Gold Edition

Decent FPS game with long load times

I purchased this game the day it came out, and was pleased with the gameplay for the most part. I want to like it better but when I play quake, doom, etc...all of those games load up quick, and don't make your computer go slower. I have timed it and between games its 1-2 minute wait even hitting the "quick restart" button. My question is why does this game take so long if you only can get a few minutes into every level. The game itself is neat, but I find myself walking away after hitting quick replay. I don't mind a bit of a wait but I also shouldnt be able to walk away for a few minutes while a game loads..somewhat silly. I would get this when it goes on sale, but to wait for it. Overall, a decent game, the load times kill it for me *amnesia, other games load more quickly*

Painkiller: Overdose

More like Painkiller: Reheated

I had high hopes for this game because BooH and Painkiller were classic, amazing games. This is very similar, but very different. I would have told them to name this game Overdose instead of putting the Painkiller title in it *On its own, not a part of the series, it could be a good game theoretically*. I found the character Belial to be very annoying with the repetitive cheesy one liners that get annoying on the first level. I am pushing myself to beat the game but frankly after the first few levels I wanted to call it quits. The game gets repetitive and the pace is annoying, unlike BooH and Painkiller. This is a game that you will most likely not enjoy as much as the original. Booh and Painkiller are both great games but this just feels like a slap in the face honestly. The Good-Some levels are very nice, and the weapon models are somewhat neat The Bad-Cards are challenging to get, and as well the one liners are awful. To paint you a picture imagine if every ten kills in the regular Painkiller you heard the character say *Taste like Chicken*. Be warned, this IS a watered down version of Painkiller, I would say get this on sale. You will want to like this but it will be hard.

POSTAL 2

Has its ups and downs

This game is very unique and some aspects, digusting in others. While I have played many FPS games before, I saw some things that I enjoyed and some things I despised. The Cons -Game is very vulgar/disgusting at times -The A.W. add-on forces you to kill animals to progress -On the last day, the raining cats are very very very annoying -The game all in all seems a waste of time, well moreso than other games -The main character is very gullable and somewhat stupid, has no voice. So, the thing that truly bothered me is the game was very open ended without the add on, but the add on forces you to kill animals. If there was an option to not injure animals I would have enjoyed the game a little more Now, for the Pros -Interesting ideas in the expansion pack or add on, the zombies and evil spirit Gary Coleman things were neat, the background reminded me of silent hill a bit -Has some replayability if you can get past how cruel the game makes you -The ending score is funny, I only attacked when need be from my view and my ranking was "Soccer Mom" I don't know all the ending titles but that was unique -You don't, theoretically, have to kill anyone in the game (in the add-on/expansion pack, your forced to. -Morbid humor everywhere All in all, not a bad game but I think it would have been cool to allow the player to be male or female, more open ended, and less killing of animals. I wasn't expecting a great story, but by the end of the game you begin to think the Postal dude has seriously bad luck and hes a bit dumb.

Daikatana

In one word-Mediocre

I had played this on a home port *Nintendo 64* and liked it, however upon playing the first few levels I remembered the things I didn't like about this game. The first few levels are byfar the worst, and I would argue most boring *Come on, who really wants to shoot frogs, alligators, and mosquitoes in a swamp* The thing that irks me so much about this game is the savegems. I like games like Deus Ex where I can save whenever I please. This game, you'd be lucky if you can save conveniently. The graphics aren't awful but obviously look dated. I also get annoyed by the quit menu, this game reminds me of an arrogant person who claims to be the greatest thing in the world. When you manage to get past the crappy first part the game gets a little better. It is worth a play or two but it just feels subpar after playing certain games *Blood, Deus Ex, Serious Sam*

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter

Not a bad game

This is a fun game with lots of secrets, I can't say too much I didn't like about it however some levels I felt they went a bit overboard with the enemy count *Guess that is the point though* I really enjoyed it and Id say for the price, pick it up.

Deus Ex 2: Invisible War

Not an awful game, but not like Deus Ex

The biggest changes ive noticed comparing this to Deus Ex is this-choices seem more limited on how you can handle things. Also, this game has a cartoon-y feel to it, whereas Deus Ex the original had a grim/grey feel to it *much more realistic* I would say this game is colorful like a rainbow, Deus Ex the original is like many shades of grey. The biggest disappointment in my opinion is changing the skill sets/augs up, and also the ammo packs for all weapons. At least in Deus ex you didn't go through ammo as quickly usually. Is this a bad game? No. Is it like its predecessor? No, see it as a different game. I will play it again though, its not horrible.

Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

Great Game

This game has replay value out the wazoo. I have played and beaten it over 6-7 times on diffrent ports *3 times on the N-64* and I like the PC version best. Byfar this is one of the neatest games you will ever play because you are given so many choices and options to handle a situation. The game gets frustrating at times and I have found a glitch in the Hong Kong area, however i managed to bypass it. If you are thinking about getting this, just get it. It is well worth the 5 or 10 dollars. I think most games out their lack substance, and this has it. I would call it a bleak game but a great one, nonetheless.
