Europa Universalis IV: Ultimate Bundle

$200??? Try $50 right here on GOG

********************I did NOT buy this game from GOG*********************** I have played the game in the past, I thought it was ok but, I am no fanboy that's for sure. I prefer games like DOW, Civilization, Total War, ect. however, if you want to buy this game, do yourself a favor and don't buy this overpriced bundle. Choose the "Starter Pack" which comes with 5 of the DLCs then, you can buy the rest right now for like an additional $45 or so. Better yet,. start with the Starter Pack and, wait for each remaining DLC to go on sale one by one and, get them that way. There is plenty of game in the base edition to keep you going for hours so, there should be no rush to get all the DLCs at once. ***I do not own this game from GOG***

Blackguards Special Edition

Two hours in

I greabbed Blackguards during a 90% off sale and, it did not disappoint at all. If I knew how decent it was, I would have paid full price for it. The game is playing out to be a typical small party RPG with nothing super special, the die rolls for combat seems a little weird like the lower you roll, the better however, once you get used to that, you're in good shape. This title shines in the voice acting...I expected no voice acting or, horrible voice acting at the full price point but, it is very good, sounds like the actors are reading lines together as opposed to just phoning in lines. I say, give this a shot, if you don't like it, return it though, if you like RPGs with turn based combat, you won't be let down.

Galactic Civilizations III: Ultimate Edition

Entry level 4X/Strategy game

After reading multiple reviews on the game, I feel it necessary to write a short one myself. This is a 4X/Grand Strategy game by mechanics alone however, it is NOT that involved! This game is absolutely entry level to the genre. The game is like playing with Lincoln Logs while everyone else has a bucket of 1000 Lego pieces. That however, does not mean this game isn't fun or, worth a small investment to check out for you or, buy to get your kids or SO into the strategy genre. I have read reviews with people trying to compare this game to something like Civilazation 6 which is wholly unfair! This game is a relaxed strategy game that one plays while binging a favorite TV show. Do yourself a favor and, give the core game a shot and, if you enjoy the relaxed, laid back feel then, keep it or, keep it and grab the DLCs and, well...if you don't like it, GOG has a very simply return policy with minimum questions asked so, return it, get your money back and, save $100 or more to buy Civ 7 with all the expansions if that's what you're in to. I simply can not stress this point enough, it is ABSOLUTELY ENTRY LEVEL and, very much for the feint of heart! Do your inner child a favor and, check out this game.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Anniversary Edition

The best RTS experience I've ever had!!

I have owned this series from the first week it came out, bought all the expansions one by one, bought the collector's editions, ect. The game is amazing and, when you are done with the stock game, the modding community is absolutely amazing and, will have you playing the game for years into decades! If enough people buy it from GOG and, there is a way to figure out who owns it, I will buy this version as well simply for the multiplayer experience as the original releases used GameSpy which is sadly defunct. The models in the game are amazing and, worth the price of admission alone.
