Unlike what the disclaimer claims, more than just Escalation missions, Elusive Targets and user-created Contracts are locked behind online DRM. There is no item unlocks, no progression, and only default starts and stashes in offline mode... basically 90% of what you can do in the game. This is completely unacceptable for a single player game. This does not belong in the GOG store.
Trine 3 is not as good as its predecessor, but it still offers the fun and engaging puzzles that you have come to expect. Although a lot of mechanics have been toned back (skills, for example) and the story is relatively short, it could be worthwhile if picked up at a steep discount.
