Assassin's Creed®: Director's Cut

Bought it for the soundtrack...

Seriously, I don't understand why Ubisoft doesn't offer the Soundtrack on Uplay once you buy it there. Anyway, the game is a classic, it invented the franchise we all love today. It had a lot of flaws. In fact a comparison to Watch Dogs would be quite fair. It's like they tried a lot of things and wanted to see, how everyone reacts, and fix the issues with the next installment. But even though this game is lacking a lot of things we learned to love with Assassin's Creed 2, it is a lot darker than the other games and provides a bigger combat and climbing challange, and therefore I appreciate it to this day.

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2

A cult classic from my childhood!

Whilst heavily overpriced on release, I am still greatfull that they did it. The disc version simply doesn't work anymore, and this one is very well polished. I encountered no bugs or crashes wilst playing the game. I would even argue that this game is far superior to the first one in the series. Everything is a step up, be it gameplay, visuals, enemy types, length of the game, just everything. I think most people are a bit put of by the style, since it isn't exactly canon to the comics, which is a very big deal for Asterix fans, but once you accept that this game tries to take the mick out of the genre at the time with enemy types resembling popular characters like Mario or Sonic, you're good to go. They just took the source material as a focus point, but made sure that they had a great game before anything, and I appreciate that. Recommended to all you silly Romans out there!

Shadow Warrior 2

Not quite there yet

I don't think I have to comment on the positive things here, open levels, missions, loot, more weapons, more enemys, more everything, and I absolutely love it, and I'm looking forward to the next instalment if it ever comes. Because this is more than an indie game, this is very close to an AAA Title. But then there's things that take it far away from that again. All the sidemissions reuse the same maps over and over and over and over again. It gets really annoying after a while if you're someone that wants to do everything in a game, all chests, all enemys, all loot in the level... after a while you just don't care any more. The reused maps are also not polished properly, falling through the map, two map parts not really fitting to each another. It makes me question wether they just didn't have the money or just wanted those hunting missions so desperately that they were willing to sacrifice a lack of quality in them. And that's why I'm taking away the one star. This game is a brilliant sequel, the story is crap but that has to be like that, all these new things were very exciting and interesting... but next time I hope it's more balanced and that there are more different maps. Otherwise: If you liked the first one and or love action filled games with gore, guns and humor on a puberty level... recommended! Without a doubt, without a Wang!
