Don't Starve

Tim Burton's Minecraft

This game is about what you would get if you handed the reins of Minecraft to Tim Burton. Well, minus the constant digging and the blockiness. Maybe it's because I haven't managed to survive for more than a couple of weeks but I can't see how this game can get boring or samey at all, although the initial search for supplies of any kind (aside from wood and grass) CAN get a bit annoying I guess. I would also say that one of the game's biggest selling points is that they tell you almost nothing when you start, leaving you to figure out what needs to be done and when, and I STILL don't fully understand the health/sanity/hunger meters you're given. All I know is that I've been hooked on this since I bought it in a Steam Sale about 4 months ago, to the point where I even went and bought it again the moment it was released for PS Vita.

Always Sometimes Monsters

Not great, but definitely worth a play

Now, first things first, this IS a good game, I really enjoyed it, but the choices you're offered really don't seem to matter much in the long run. Some parts can feel like a drag, like trying to earn enough money to leave town, and it feels like the game is trying TOO hard to tell a meaningful story, but it's mostly enjoyable nonetheless. The highlights, for me, were firstly finding the devs themselves in the coffee shop discussing a game they're developing and secondly, finding the "heroz" figures which represented various Indie Game characters like the guys from Gods Will Be Watching...meanwhile, the rest of the game was enjoyable enough that I would definitely recommend it to others with the caveat that it's not some great earth-shaking adventure and it probably won't deliver any huge life-changing revelations, but it's a sweet little slice of entertainment anyway...

Jazzpunk: Director's Cut

Short AND awesome

As short as this game is, I couldn't stop smiling almost the entire time I've played it so far, and if I hadn't got it in a Humble Bundle I'd for sure have bought it outright anyway as I love these kinds of games. Definitely not your average kind of FPV adventure game, it's not for the average gamer either, but if you like your games quirky and kinda bizarre then you'll love this, after all it's not every game that gives you the chance to cross-dress and kiss Hunter S Thompson, or go swimming in a pool with Hunter S Thompson, or talk nonsensical garbage on the beach with Hunter S Thompson. None of the side-quests have any bearing on the main story but they're great fun to do anyway if you can find them, especially the beach treasure hunt. Make sure you pay attention to the closing credits once you complete the game too. Oh, and you get to kill AND bbq a mechanical pig on wheels!
