Legend of Grimrock

Yes you should!

OK so Ive finally completed Legend Of Grimrock (better late than never, right?) At first the game seemed a bit too old school to me, as Ive never played Magic Carpet or Eye Of The Beholder. But after a short time, I really became fascinated by it and the obvious attention to every detail, from graphics, sound, and the puzzles. I admit that I had to look up a few of the solutions to the puzzles, but honestly after reading how to do one, I was never left with the feeling that I would never have found that out on my own, and it was too hard to see what you had to do. Legend Of Grimrock is hard at times, but fair. If you enjoy puzzles. If you like fantasy or if you just like a visit to a fascinating universe, should you buy Legend Of Grimrock...? Read title of this review again! Full marks to the games developers for this one. Theres nothing "indy" about it, trust me.

Thief™ Gold

First best and most sneaky stealth FPS

I had my doubts about this game ever accepting newer versions of Windows. I've spent years buying Gold versions on CD to replace my old original version of this game, and trying to fiddle around with fixes, patches and hacks. Everything I could find to make this golden oldy back to life. It seems a wizard is hiding out behind the scenes at gog.com. I have just completed the tutorial of Thief and it works perfectly. The sound, graphics and cut scenes. And on Win7 64bit to boot. Bravo! The game takes place in a Steampunk inspired world that have both magic and technology, but both in a primitive way. You play as the thief Garrett, who is sort of like Robin Hood. You steal from the rich and have no qualms about subduing hired guards. The innocent, like servents, pets or even the lady of the house, is another matter. Never harm the defenseless. During your... Nightly activities you come across a woman who hires you to steal a magic sword for her. Nice, easy and quickly done, for someone of your talents... Right? Buy this game for the story and the awesome way it makes you feel when your "working." Them drunken guards wont know what... snuck past them.

Evil Genius

Fun but sadly broken.

After watching a review of this game I decided to buy it. The comical humor brought back fond memories of games like Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital. (In fact Evil Genius shares more than a few genes with the latter.) But only after a few hours playtime I started noticing quite a few issues with this game. From bad AI, to more serious problems like items that become unrecoverable due to unfortunate placing. Nothing saddens me more than games that don't reach their full potential due to something as simple as patching. Unless you have unlimited patience, I'd steer clear of this one if I where you.
