Tried a bunch of online "solutions" but nothing works.
I played and stopped playing the very same day. Put simply, you can walk into a character with a machine gun and in two seconds your whole game is over. No save, no restart - just a few hours of your life wasted. If the game were amazing, I might restart and go through the tedious work to "learn my lesson", but this is sloppy game design at its worst: punishing players for exploring. Apparently, you need to press alt+F4 to restart the day and take on more guys so that if you lose your main character, it won't be game over. Would've been nice to know that before. It's ok to have insta-death in games without this kind of build-up, because the whole point is to learn where the traps are, but not after players have sunk a significant amount of time into it.
