Cant stand nor will I ever support a company that begs for positive reviews, takes credit for others' work, shoehorns modern political issues into beloved titles, and demeans people with whom they disagree with politically. This is a review of Beamdog as a company, and not the game

Not as good as the game in Witcher 3, but with an awful UI, and menu interface.. ive only played a few3 hands, and have no idea what the crafting section is about, and trying to look at the cards I own, or not, and which decks theyre from is even more confusing than meun navigation. Some of the cards have good abilities, but I would prefer to be able to play against the computer to learn how to play.. I was expecting a campaign, like the tutorial, but was completely disappointed to find out that was it. I dont like it.. I didnt get to play the beta version, so cant comment on it.. Perhaps if the menu was less confusing to navigate, and browsing through my collection were less confusing, as well as some explanations of what all these currencies are for, I may have a better understanding, and better review.

Im noy sure which dlc is causing my problem, because I just bought all available dlc at once, and instealled them, and started a new play through.. Im runing with a i5-4690k, and 1070fe.. Ive tried it with and without the HD dlc, and am currently running with it off, with everything on High (Not Very High, not Ultra High).. The oly area I seemed to have framerate issues so far was Rattay town square, and cut scenes.. Since installing dlc's, my game is not loading textures properly.. And I mean EVERYTHING! It takes multiple seconds for textures to finish rendering, and its driving me nuts.. Ive turned shadow quality down to med, Ive tried adjusting multiple other settings, and nothign is fixing it.. The framerate is now a stable 60fps, but my textures are still loading very slowly (this was not an issue for 60 hours prior to installing the dlcs).. As for Band of Bastards.. Im not sure if this is doing it, but suddenly, all the bandits/camps now have atleast one bandit with gorgeous, heavy armor, who has no problem pulling off 3-4 hit combos to destroy my health.. Im only now just investigating Neuhoff massacre, and am only about 10hrs into this campaign, with very little side activity being complete (Im playing very good guy, so no malcious activities).. I would like to know if this is BoB adding these OP bandits, and if so, I do not rate it very well.. Its too early, and Im too under powered, low on geear, and inexperienced tobe having to deal with bandits of this magnitude! Heck, Ive tried the first two "Ruin" quests from Capt Bernard, and found them to be imposible because of these bandits.. Taking care of the two thugs, to get Ginger, same thing.. I have not gotten to the questline for BoB, so I cannot comment on that yet, and will update later!

This game is absolutely amazing.. Im 75 hours in, and have only ran into a taxture problem, or getting stuck in the environment twice. Not one single bug, or quest issue from me! I dont understand the complaints about the save system.. Youre given plenty of save potions, and can make them easily, as well as saving anytime you sleep, or complete quests. The combat can be finnicky, and the lock on can be annoying when fighting multiple players, but it is one of the more satisfying I have experienced! I do find some parts frustrating. Liek enemies that seem to have infinite stamina, or block/parry perfectly and infinitely, as well as combos. Its definitely hit or miss at times, but awesome when working! The story so far has been fun, a parts are really challenging.. You can avoid or take on as much as you want, without feeling like youre missing out on some arbitrary experience points, as you gain experienec from physically using your skills! I cannot give this game, the studio, and the developers enough praise! Even more astonishing when you consider the meager backing, and start this game had.. The dlc, and the prices that seem slightly steep for such short content.. (luckily, I bought them all about 50hrs into my play through of the game) I started a new play through, so they play beautifully into the game, as opposed to me going straight for them after many hours of play, and knocking them out in an hour or two, which I htink, is the way to play them) I always start a new play through when I get new dlcs, in any game.. Thankfully, and also unfortunately, I bought everything while on discount, after waiting for so long to buy (I needed a new GPU before buying certain games, as my old 660ti wasnt cutting it anymore) Just today, its been announced that THQ aquired War Horse, and 2 MILLION copies sold, so theyll have bigger backing if/when they begin a new project..
