Because CDPR did not damage their reputation with gamers enough, theyve folliwed in the footsteps of the greats,, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc.. RIP CDPR/GOG
I picked this up on Steam, and immediately refunded it, and am posting this as a warning. SOE games, come with an unavoidable data collection contract. You can opt for slightly less data collection, but that is all. The moment the opening cinematic ends, you are met with the agreement. And it is appalling! I am dumbfounded how many people are willing to allow this kind of privacy invasion, and for a videogame no less, THAT YOU PAID FOR!
1070Founders Edition i5-4690k Im am enjoying the HELL out of this game! Havent been able to put it down since release day. I immediately updated, and installed the new Nvidia drivers, and havent really had any issues, aside from some really annoying audio cracking (I use wired headphones, jacked into my xbone controller). I was a little didsappointed to have to play on medium settings, when High looked so much better, but driving and certain areas become to choppy. I understand the complaints from console players, but how people on PC havent come to expect patching is beyond me. I had no problem waiting for further delays. Aside from all the silly shit, the game itself is AMAZING! the music is perfect, the gun play is spot on, the atmosphere and city life are top notch (AI needs some tweaking). I was hoping for melee closer to Vermintide, but this is good still. Vermintide is the only game that does melee combat all that well (Kingdom Come Deliverance did it alright as well). All in all, Im beyond happy with this game. I know the patches will make it even better, and Ill be replaying this multiple times. Theyve crafted an amazing game, no doubt. But its pretty clear it wasnt quite ready. Far too many platforms to code for imho. Absolutely recommend everyone give this game a go. this is GOTY, hands down!
Having bought several of their games on Steam, I warn you... save your money! bland gameplay, poor stories, horrible mechanics, etc.. This holds true from the first Van Helsing, all the way to inquisitor Martyr! STAY AWAY!
This is, hands down, one of the greatest video games every created! The expansions, elevate that even further, and this is a must own for absolutely everyone! CDPR has replaced Bioware as my alltime favorite rpg developer (Bioware hasnt made a decent game since Dragon Age Origins)
This is one of my all time favorite games. Beautiful graphics, amazing story, great combat, and story rich! It does have a few spots that feel unfair (the first Letho Fight, and Dragon) but thats about it. Im not gonna write a long review, but just wanted to add another to the mix. One of the few games Ive purchased multiple times.. After playing this, I went and got Witcher 1, and have been a fan ever since! As soon as all the books are translated to English, Ill be grabbing those as well! CDPR deserves support from everyone!
This was great gear, but didnt really add anything to the game itself.. Honestly, it should have just been in the vanilla game. I wish the treasures would have had some sort of quest coupled with them and the maps being the reward for completion.. Something, ANYthing other than "here, have some maps with awesome looking, mid tier gear".
Honestly, I couldnt get enough of this guy.. Getting to get into more shenanigans with Sir Hans was absolutely welcome! Though Ill admit, his missions in the main game were a little better. Please, keep making games!
I enjoyed the hell out of this dlc.. I only wish there were was more useable gear introduced with the dlc, and the settlement itself felt more alive.. But I thoroughly enjoyed building it up, and I got plenty of time out of it, playing it during my play through I think many people have the main game beaten, then buy the dlc, and steam through it and wonder why its over so fast. I enjoyed this one, Band of Bastards, and Sir Hans Capon perfectly well, while playing them during my campaign, and did not feel slighted, or short, while doing so. Ofcourse, I actually 'role play' my rpgs, and dont treat them like a videogame.
So, I bought the game on Steam, and wanted to warn others on GOG as well.. I wanted to support this developer, as this awesome looking game appeared to be getting no attention, and suffered low sales from everything I found. Unfortunately, when I bought it, it refused to work. I reinstalled it repeatedly, verified the files integrity, and gave it two days of repeated attempts.. It seems this is a known issue, and the devs "fix" is for the consumer to play some beta file, or go through a few steps to fix it themselves. I find this completely unacceptable! If Im buying a product, I dont think its too much to ask for that product to function, without me having to work to get it to play! Being FAR from the only person having this issue, I believe it is my responsibility to warn any other possible consumer that you may not be able to play the game, without significant work to get to to function. If, like me, youre not the tech savvy type, this can be a somewhat intimidating endeavor.
