Primordia

Circuits and Rust

Primordia was a bit of a surprise for me back when I played it the first time around. I have never been a big player of point and click adventures, and often find myself getting lost in logic puzzles of one kind or another. But wow the aesthetic and worldbuilding had me leave those worries behind. And I am so glad I dove in, The world is dirty, grimy and caked in rust, something the pixel-art really helps convey. What really took me aback was how the well the characters were planned and thought out. These are machines of various degrees of programming complexity, and its very enjoyable to see how they attempt and struggle in navigating the world within their often limited paramaters of operation. If you are any kind of fan of clunky analogue sci-fi, beautiful blade runner-esque soundtracks and a story of those left behind in mankinds folly, you should give it a go. Its a mournful apocalypse of second and third generation machines still trying to live on among the dunes and dust.
