This game is good. It had great controls, the enemies are varied, plentiful and inventive, it had a good tree as far as experience goes, and some nice decisions to be made as far as equipment goes (should i get more mana? more armour? get back some life whenever i kill an enemy? an extra jump?). But if there is a problem with this game, and is the reasons why it lost 1 star to me, is the difficulty curve. This game starts HARD, and that is good. You have low hp, even less mana, and you might as well throw insults at the enemies, for all the damage your sword does. The problem is, the more you grind (and you will grind), the easier the game gets. after 50 or so hours, you can beat any boss without much trouble, let alone the usual enemies. By now some of you might be thinking "eh, no biggie, i'll just start a new game +". And while if you do that the normal enemies will indeed become harder, you can still dispatch them with ease. And the bosses? well, just know their health barely changes, and their attack doesn't change much. Same patterns also. So, if you want a hard game, you have to hurry. The more levels you get, the easier it becomes. So much so that after beating it 2 times (the game is fun, after all), it's harder to start a new game from scratch than to start another NG+. Be warned about that.
