Shame on you who give this game less than 5 stars just because the "remaster" part of it isn't drastical. It doesn't matter at all. It is Grim Fandango, the same story, same world, same characters, same magic. Stop whinning. Everybody should have the experience of playing Grim Fandango at least once before they die.
I read many reviews saying that Machinarium's puzzles feel random; that sometimes you have to click everything in every room etc... Don't believe this kind of review. I mean no offense when I say that this game is for very intelligent people. And you might not be one, and it's okay, everybody has different levels and kinds of intelligence. If you wanna play games that feel challenging but really aren't (like Hitman, where the whole game is just a huge walkthrough), or games that have everything written down in order not to make you exaust yourself with thinking, Machinarium is not for you. If you wanna dive into a world of art, and let yourself fall in love with the characters, places, songs, stories, then this is for you.
I bought this game after reading some 5 star reviews; and I was so sure it was going to be an amazing game to play. Frustration! An endless walking experience, with boring tasks instead of fun challenges. The graphics are beautiful, the story is maybe awesome (I didn't play even half of the game, so don't know if it is) but the puzzles are so tedious. I love Myst and Riven, and I wanted to love Obduction; just can't. Sad.
