Cyberpunk 2077

Masterpiece

I have been playing Cyberpunk 2077 since the day it was released. On day one I told myself, that this game is unpolished gem. Now it's beautiful, mostly polished gem. As of 2.1 update: + story, lore, characters + soundtrack + graphics (top tier) + combat + character development + driving model (yes! it's 5x better than on release) + sound effects (same, on release it was poor, now it's awesome, especially after recent patch) + optimization (yes, as for now, it's very well optimized) + police system (again, yes! in 1.0-2.0 it was horrible, now it's very enjoyable) + AI (same) + minigames (Roach Race, Trauma Drama - very cool) +/- open world - Nightcity is beautiful, but still not as interactive as I wish it was +/- consequences of choices could be shown to the player more directly and clearly +/- customization - there is character customization, some limited color customization of cars, no customization of weapons etc. it's not what I wish it was for such a big RPG +/- romances are there and since 2.0 are improved, but still could be better +/- overall physics, sometimes still glitchy - hands of NPCs while they are driving cars are still not turning the steering wheel properly - unique weapons are still not so unique and rewarding - braindances (general idea is cool, but the execution for not is.. yaawwwn) - in my opinion voices of charaacters always sound like they are sitting in the studio and it's not so immersive in many scenarios - [DLC only] - in dogtown open world activities are too dense, too many of them for such a small location and I feel overwhelmed by them Overall, I'm proud of CDPR how they managed to fix this game. Even smallest details are being fixed even now, not by CDPR but the external studio. Even details not mentioned in the patch notes, such as sounds of vehicles passing by, which was too loud and annoying to me, and now it's fixed. 5/5, 98/100. Wonderful game, worth every penny at the moment. PS. Long live Paweł Sasko!

Unpolished Gem

I think it's obvious - this game should not be released in a shape in which it was in December 2020. I played it then and I decided to postpone my playthrough, because I believed in CDP, I believed that they will fix all the bugs and then they will work hard on improving all the unfinished stuff. And that's what happened. I've tried every single patch that CDPR released for this game. I wish they developed them quicker, but eventually after 1.5 Cyberpunk is finally in a shape which is enjoyable for me. Of course, there is still a lot to improve, but CDPR is on the right way to redemption. And I believe the best it yet to come for this game. After 1.5: Pros: + beautiful graphics + original and intriguing art direction + soundtrack + dialogues + main story + side quests + combat (thanks to hacks, character customization, different weapons and cyberwaves it is possible to have various fighting styles and also shooting is very enjoyable to me) + level design + simple but enjoyable crafting + satisfying character development Pros/cons: +/- optimization (was not acceptable at release, now it runs fine) +/- UI (after 1.5 is decent, but not perfect) +/- there are consequences of player's choices, but they are not presented clearly to the player, which often makes them hard to notice +/- some audio effects could be better and more diverse (car crashing sound is too loud and weird, NPC's car horns have always the same *beep* pattern instead of randomized, tires sounds could be more diverse on different surfaces and so on) Cons: - crowd AI (better in 1.5 but still not great) - police system - driving model (better in 1.5 but still not great) - lack of interactivity and minor activities in the city - lack of vehicle customization - still some rare and minor bugs Minor, very specific cons which irritate me: - cars change gears always at the same RPM which sounds odd - traffic lights almost always turn green when you approach them - not enough of parking spaces
