GOG version doesn't save your progress properly: the 4 unlockable tracks and reverse/pocket bike mode don't stay unlocked after beating the championship. Also later stages of the championship are bugged and so you'll end up repeating West Way and Dirt Arena over and over again instead of racing 4 the unlockable tracks. ------- The game itself is a lot of fun, and while there isn't too much content, extra unlockable modes add some variety, and I just like jumping in for a race or two every once in a while.
The gameplay is kinda fun, but they messed up with the plot big time: - You get some artsy cutscenes that don't really give you any information, and it's hard to tell WTF is even going on in them. - The dialogues overstay their welcome like that one guest who just doesn't seem to get the hint when you've washed all the dishes and put on your pajamas. - The ending literally makes no sense, it feels like they just forgot to include the part of game that would explain how the heck it's actually connected to what happened just before it, because I sure can't: there's literally no way the events that happen can be connected to the conclusions the characters draw from them. Also the AI is super dumb, the music is not as good as in the first game, and there's no level replay or any sort of scoring, so if you've missed a perfect cleanup somewhere, you'd have to redo the whole game.
Weapons don't quite have the same oomph they have in Doom; the first three episodes are fun, but the last two feel tedious and unnecessary. A fun diversion if you kinda want to play Doom but are tired of killing the same old Imps and Cacodemons all the time.
