I’ve had the game for about 2 weeks now and played it many times. I’ve won many times, and unlocked 7 of the 8 unlockable ships and most of the B variants. I’d say luck plays maybe 25% in determining if you win or lose. Most of the times I died, I know what my mistakes were and what I should have done instead. Most of those involved getting greedy and taking risks I shouldn’t have. The forum here has a lot of good advice for beginners—like not risking crew members unless there’s a blue option (giant spiders, oh noes!). The game will teach you by killing you—if you’re willing to learn and don’t give up easily
