Assassin's Creed®: Director's Cut

Bring the Entire Series to GOG, Ubisoft

The first Assassin's Creed is represents revolutionary game design, and it pioneered many of the systems it implemented. The game's focus on historical fantasy gave the world a feeling of realism without sacrificing the game it was trying to be. It's not perfect, but no game is, and what's here is pretty good. The Assassin's Creed series deserves to be released on GOG, free from DRM that complicates consumers' ownership of their copies of games, and where it can reach more people and drive Ubisoft's profits up. Ubisoft has made some fairly anti-consumer and anti-ownership comments and practices in the past, so walking them back and releasing these games on GOG would not only increase their reputation, but increase their games' ease-of-access to people like us.

The Technomancer

Needs Compatibility Patch

I bought The Technomancer a long time ago and never finished it, but I was immediately impressed by the combination of thoughtful gameplay design and suprising presentation. I intended to revisit it recently, but the game has a huge problem: it only supports systems of 8 cores or below. Anything higher crashes the game upon starting a new game or resuming, but the game runs in the main menu just fine. Obviously, this game's selling point is not the main menu, so this is not sufficient. This game needs a compatibility patch to be brought to standard with modern systems, but since this issue has existed basically since these systems became commonplace and no patch was ever offered, it's unlikely it will be. Spiders/Focus Interactive, fix the product you're selling or provide a warning of its incompatibility with most modern gaming rigs.
