Exactly what the title says, it's a money and time sink, you'll throw a bunch of money at it to try and get it to be a full gaming experience by buying the DLC's, you'll spend hours of your time with failed empires until you realize the only strategy is actually genocide because game performance is so bad it can't even handle it's own population system, then you'll become a Determined Exterminator or a Devouring Swarm, forget about poilitcs and build a population and proceed to just wipe everyone out a bunch of time. Eventually you'll arrive at the same point I have, a whole lot of money spent, a bunch of time wasted and bugger all decent memories to think back on. Sriously don't waste your time and money, this really isn't worth it and Paradox doesn't deserve it.
This is a great game, always has been, I have played it over and over through-out the years as it was the first game that ever got me into online gaming, I joined my first clan while playing Quake and competed for placings for two years. One thing about this game that most people don't realize, it never had an actual soundtrack in the game files, the music was written to the game CD as audio tracks and could be played on any stereo, the opposite is also true, insert a music CD while playing and you can listen to your favorite music while playing, this was a deliberate feature done by id Software that everyone seems to have forgotten. If you want the original tracks then you can find them for download on the internet, then burn an audio CD and away you go. IF YOU WANT MUSIC THEN INSERT AN AUDIO CD! Please update your description GoG and possibly include an audio CD image ready to mount/burn so people can have the full package. I luckily still have my original disc, others aren't so lucky, but everyone should be able to enjoy this game as it was originally created.
