The Outer World is an interesting game, but the expectations set to it were too high, if you like this kind of game you will have fun, there are funny jokes that will land and ones that will cringe. If you want to evaluate the story of the game it is thematically muddle, it can be kind of confusing there are many weird choices about the main factions but at the same time it is really fun that some one made a toothpaste that makes people fell less hungry. Do not expect a masterpiece but it is not as bad as many reviewers here imply, embrace the dumb and you will have fun, still leagues better than any monstrosity Bethesda made with Fallout.

This game on vannila is just a trap to sell dlc. I have the game on Steam and made a similar review. When you play without the dlcs the game give you juicy ideas like a precursor civilization (that only develops if you buy the DLC), mega structures (DLC for more), gigantic battleships(DLC) and a federation (Latest DLC) and those are all separated DLC. Paradox is getting really comfortable with this predatory system. My advice is don't buy it in the second playthrough you'll understand that this game is fueled by expectations and you imagination go buy a book or a better game.

Most reviews around this one will show how gruesome and painstaking this game is to play. Although most are deliberate choices by the game-makers, this is an old "cult classic" game, before buying you should read Quintin's review on Rock Paper Shotgun of if you are lazy, like me, watch Hbomberguy's recent review on Youtube, it has spoilers but it shows what you are facing. The genius and problems in this game can annoy most players, myself included, but it a masterpiece nonetheless And you always can do like me and buy the Pathologic 2 that is suppose to improve on the game pace overall and is the most likely to be a more bearing experience. I hope....
