Terra Invicta

I thought I won't like it...

I watched a couple of Youtube videos and the space battles seem interesting, also I am big 4x fanboy, so I thought I would give Terra Invicta a try. I thought I won't like the Earth political simulator, because that's what it is, not necessarily a grand strategy. But it's actually quite fun, and I like to conquer a country "peacefully" by taking control of the public opinion and then bring the political structures to my side, instead of sending in the tanks. I am 50 hours in and I did not get to play a lot of space battles (a couple really, cause I restarted a few times), and they are interesting, but they are not the best part of the game. Overall, I don't know yet if I will get to 1000 hours in this game like in Stellaris or EU IV, but it has potential.

Field of Glory: Empires

Excellent 4X

After the disappointment with Imperator, I don't know what made me pick up this game full price, instead of waiting a few months for a sale - I have a few other AGEOD games, but none of them is a favorite. But I am glad I did. It took a bit of time to get into it - I almost abandoned it because I did not understand the decadence stuff. After reading a bit, I picked it up again and I cannot get away from it. Plenty of reviews out there that discuss features and so on, just wanted to say that if you are on the fence, jump. The only other games that captured me so much in the last couple of years are Stellaris and Rimworld.
