Dracula Trilogy

excellent trilogy

best vampire games I have ever played. One was a magnificent romp, no trouble there. Two could have given us a bit more Mina... and one could have too, for that matter. Three... despite the bad glitches where you can't see the mouse cursor, the cut scenes stop and the dialogue disappears, this game is a fantastic, historically rich treat for anyone who loves archetypal symbolism and the occult. I am ashamed to say I was ill this week and was forced to use a walkthrough for some of the juicier puzzles. SADNESS! GREAT GAME, if you can overlook those glitches.

Montague's Mount

immersive it's not

As an old-style gamer who cut her teeth on ZORK and Myst, I am ashamed. GREAT concept though. and hte art is magnificent. But they ruin the genre for yonger people with the total lack of and disregard for contextual thinking. If YOU were washed up on an island, would you be seeing notes stuck everywhere, tellign you what to do? NO. Would you be seeing a message pop up every now nad then about how you 'checked fifty items?' NO. You just washed up on a damn island. You go out, you pick stuffup, you USE YOUR BRAIN TO FIGURE IT OUT. What is WRONg with these people?

Blackwell Bundle

DEAR GOD IT'S GOOD

Like I've died and gone to... well.. you know. PERK. why there no space for infinite STARZ? The story is balanced. the gameplay is mostly balanced. there are no anoying pop-up windows teling you which buttosn to push to breathe air unless you want em... MY GOD MAN. Wadjet, I am a fan for life. I played all four this week, in two days, and am waiting patiently for hte awesome that is BLACKWELL: EPIPHANY to come to GOg soon.

Divinity 2: Developer's Cut

haven't played it yet.

Ha. I said it. I don't give a flying FUQ about replay value. If it feels like Divine Divinity and has cast that foul pretender Beyond Divinity into the pits where it belongs, I am happy. But, it sure don't look like it, yo. WHERE's the classic design? 3-d graphics work in a game that USES THEM PROPERLY. I have doubts about a game that worked FINE without them suddenly being upgraded. Why take the player OUT of the immersive state of nirvana that Divinity the First put them in even MORE than Beyond Divinity took the mOut of it? YEEESH.

Divine Divinity

I. LOVe. MY. DIVINITY.

if you want a mindless game with DICE-ROLLS, No Story, No Atmosphere, No Wisecracks, Multiplayer, Co-Op, CHAT????, No Brains, Handholding and Tower Defense, go elsewhere. Divinity has quirks, class, and a crack load of wishes were horses. if you like thinking about what to do next, enjoying a long battle with a crapload of orcs just for the sake of watching them all drop dead and taking their booty, please, please, play this game. It's beautiful. The art is awesome, the isometric view is PERFECT... i could go on. It's the stuff my dreams were made of. i worry about the sequels though. Why do they always ahve to -IMPROVe- everything? It's maddening.

The Cat Lady

well damn

Are You My Mummy, As Good As it Gets, Silent Hill for Toddlers, Hotel Hell, AND a Chiswick nanny? Life gets no better than this game. Although, the endings I viewed were the same save for one line. ;(

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

arcanumunchies

I love this game. You can customize your characters in such a way that it envelops your character in individual storylines seen differently if you chose a different character type. However, many of the more complex and tasty storylines are unfinished or creepily absent once you get into the meat. nevertheless, an excellent game featuring the awesome, rare, uneasy melding of magick and tech. An epic buy if you don;t mind deep stories that finish fantastically but leave you hanging. ;) love this game.
