This game is awesome and one of my favorite games on GOG. The gameplay is similar to classic Doom in the way that you are finding keys in laberynths but instead of fighting demons you are destroying ships on your own vessel which means you can move 360° changing the gameplay considerably and making it more challenging findging you way and the fighting as well. If you need help finding your way you can use a hologuide but it is totally optional. Also there are a lot of upgradable weapons and missiles for your ship to use and tons of enemies to destroy. The music is one of the strongpoints of the game, it is techno at its best and it suits the game pretty well. The graphics do a nice job on the explosions departmet but other than that they are pretty simple, and lack variety you will explore caves and hi tech enourmous ships but thats all. There are 15 levels, 5 difficulty settings and 12 challenge scenarios which will have you fight wave after wave of enemies until you die (or untirl the times up, depending what mode you choose). The objective of this mode is to score as high as possible and upload your score on the internet to see how well you do compare to others. If thats not enough there is a level editor included for you to create your own levels or download other fans desings to expand the games longevity, There is also a multiplayer mode but unfortunately is pretty dead by now. Pros: + 360° Classic Doom like action + Tons of upgradable weapons + Great explosions + Very good music + Levels are like laberynths but you can use the hologuide if needed + 15 leveles, 12 Challenge mode leves, 5 difficulty levels and level editor expand the replayability + Can be played with a controller out of the box Cons - Not too much variety on the mission types or enviroments - Multiplayer is dead As a concusión, it is a must play if you like 90s FPS and want to play them with modern conviniences like updated graphics and sound.

Its simple actually: Timeless gameplay + enhanced / legacy edition + tons of mods + cheap price + DRM free It is a must for any gamer, do not hesitate to get this game.

The game takes a lot, and I mean a lot from Contra Hard Corps for the Sega Genesis. It looks, sounds and plays almost identical, wich is a very good thing since Contra is so awesome. You play as 4 characters, 2 uses guns and are available from the start, while the other 2 use a sword and can be unlocked afeter beating the game. The gun ones have 4 different weapons (they are same 4 for both characters unfortunately), while the sword ones only have one weapon but have more moves like charging their attacks or jumping higher. Must of the time it is a run and gun game, but in two level you will be riding a vehicle, (once again similar to the Contra HC one), while in others you will be inside of a robot like in Megaman X series. The game is only 1 hour long but it has coop, 3 difficulty levels, leaderboards, lof of achievements, Boss Rush mode and Mirror Mode (go from right to left instead of the regular left to right). So it is wothy to finish the game at least two or three times. Blazing Chrome is hard, one hit kills and all. Nevertheless, since it has difficulty settings, checkpoints, and unlimited continues (on easy and hard) selectable levels (except for the fifth and sixth ones, you hace to clear first four to unlock those two) it can be played by casual or hardcore gamers. While the game is not as good as the game in which it is inspired (that one has multiple endings, 4 weapons per character (instead of 4 for both gunners and 1 for sword ones like the game we are reviewing right now), more levels and a better soundtrack) and it is short, Blazing Chrome is still a blast thanks to its fast paced action, fluid controls and a great combination of retro elements.
