Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Play THIS instead of the Original.

Long story short: The game is great if you love CRPG. This is a must play, even only for one play through. You see these reviews saying "Don't play it, it's bad port, the original runs just 'fine'"-- well let me say this to you, prospective buyer: NO, the old version is NOT fine and *will* required you to MOD the game to play the game because the original screen scale is simply unplayable. Granted the game released in the 90s, the tech they were using are obsolete, so if you try to play the original, you *will* inevitably want to mod it, Just so that it can be 'playbale'. So yes, buy the enhanced version, download Lefreut enhanced UI, copy lefreut mode to your game install folder, install the mode, et voila, it's a lot better than the original.

Metro: Last Light Redux

Fantastic FPS Horror game

You see these review and you wondering why the heck every review on GOG are god damn, how do I put it... Intellectually deficient. Some compared this game, a linear shooter (like Bioshock) to STALKER (like fallout), Some complain that the game has "too much" story! (I know, I know... *facepalm), Some complain about lack of feature that is not standard at the time of this game release (FOV slider). All in all, typical GOG review. If you want to read more competent review, go to Steam, even if you decided to buy this game here. Here is my review: The game is good. The story telling is good, great even! if it is your thing (and I'm confident, for everyone that understand good story telling, you will like this game story, after all this game is based on books, so in term of narrative it will be good). But first thing first, remember: This game is *a* medium to experience the book. FPS aspect is what you would expect from the game from 2014, it's decent, but nothing to write home about. But definetly not bad. Playing this game is like experiencing a book, you cannot save by your own, only checkpoints, which mean if you want to stop playing you have to reach checkpoint. Don't expect Fallout style save mechanism where you can save just about whenever you want. (Additionally, this is somewhat a standard in a FPS game with linear story telling). There are bite sizes cutscenes, you can't skip it, why? because this game is basically medium for book, you have to listen and immerse yourself with the story, if you expect a game where you can just turn your brain off and shoot, this ain't it. Finally, I want to say, for those who love this type of game, this is a must play. my final overall rating is 8/10 (mostly because I'm not a fan of horror game), but if you do, it's easy 10/10. Oh but I'll give 15/10 for Venice level. If you know what I mean ;)

BioShock Infinite Complete Edition

Masterpiece of a story, Good gameplay.

Plan to buy this game and confused why the review is so much polarizing in gog compared to steam? well, if I'd suggest you be listening to steam review since you will not be dissapointed by this game, especially if you have been playing Bioshock 1 and 2. Quick recaps: Masterpiece story, Good gameplay (nothing special, except for crispy reloading animation and audio), LINEAR gameplay (means everything is scripted.... everything) and finally: great collection of music/soundtracks you will still be listening after you finished the game. Should you buy it? Yes you should (especially when it's on the discount). Note: GOG version may a bit harder to run than the steam version, my pc somehow struggled to run it on highest setting while this is not happen on Steam version, maybe just my PC, nothing to worry about. Additional note: if you read the review from scrubking, you shouldn't, man has slime for brain for writing spoilers/end game story and butchered it. Listen to your own reason not morons.

Life is Strange: Complete Season

Your choices matters (kinda).

I took my chances and decided to buy this game on gog, I just want to expand my gog library a bit I figure, saw this game on discount on steam several times but never could I dragged myself to buy it (or play the episode 1 demos). But damn, what a decision I made. The game is not so much a game, it's resembles Telltale games but with more interactions with environment, you don't made choices but you would explore and observe your environment to make decisions, never played Telltale games but I saw some videos on YouTube and you bet this game is better in gameplay. Yes, the camera can be a bit weird but then again it's 3rd person perspective so what you gonna do? It's minor complain really if it can be called complain at all. The real bread and meat of this game is the story and you should play this game blindly, which I did. The story can be a little cringy but that depends on your demographic, are you above 47? play galaga and consider throwing rocks and bonking sticks as video games? there are high chances that you can't relate and enjoy this game, if you are teenagers or young adults, I'm 90% sure this game will blow you away, especially if you enjoy game with good story. 10/10 [SPOILER AT THIS POINT] Man, I wish didn't peek at Life is Strange 2, I planned on straight buying it, I thought it was separate story entirely, apparently it's NOT, and my final choices is to sacrifice that important character in the end (you know who, if you finished the game), I kinda dissapointed that it's seem there are actual canon in this game which made left the bad taste in my mouth. Why? It means your choice don't matter, in the eye of the developer, because they decided to things for you (hence the title of this review). But then again, this game on itself is great, and you should play it.

CAYNE

You get what you expected.

It's isometric. It's point and click alright. Unless you are somehow hardcore isometric and point & click games fan, you will NOT enjoy this game. So stick with The Witcher or Bioshock or whatever the heck you're playing.

Spec Ops: The Line

Anti-War Masterpiece

First, I'm sorry. For those who planned to buy this game and expect Call of Duty but in 3rd person. You are not gonna get that. You'll get something else. Entirely fucking else. Let's begin with gameplay. It's a relatively old game, some control feel clunky, some doesn't feels right. But you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, but overall it's OK, but definetly you're going to have some complains about the control. Graphic is pretty good, considering how old the game is. Then come the story, I heard about this game in some youtube videos, but doesn't get what people means while describing this game, then I stumbled on the discount on GOG, been planning to buy game on this website, but the game collection in here is just... old, and not really good games. I figure why not. The storytelling of this game is one of the best I have ever had, it deals on real shits soldiers faced on battlefield, guns, bombs, and ugly shits in between. This game doesn't hold the punch at all. Compared to what this game have to offer, recent installment of CoD is immature compared to this. THIS how you portray warzone, no romanticization of what often is the truth that happening in the warzone in real life. If chances are you bought this game and decide to play it, you'll sense something is not right fairly early, but then you keep shooting and looting and shooting and murdering and commiting war crimes casually as you would often does in any other shooters games, this game will teach you something else down the line. You must not be prepared, this is the part why the game is great. 10/10 It's on me. I did this. I didn't know better.
