I bought this after absolutely loving FTL. It is a good game. You'll probably love it if you disliked the random chance in FTL. Your attacks will always do what you expect. You won't like this if you enjoyed playing FTL without pausing. This is a slower-paced think-then-act type of game.
You will die. Then you will die. And you'll die again. But then! - you will get that one glorious run where everything falls into place and you are melting your enemies and exploring freely - and you'll die again.
