Really enjoyed the characters and story, but things did feel like they could have been more fleshed out. Regardless, I very much enjoyed the journey CDPR created for me! Spent a lot of time climbing to different vistas and cruising the city (the traffic is something that definitely needs work). Yes there were bugs, but I was fortunate enough to not encounter any game breaking ones and honestly found them quite entertaining most of the time. Not sure why so many people are hating on the endings, the two I have experienced so far have been poetic (and as Kerry said "loops"). Excited to create a second V and take a different path! PS- really wish Mitch was romance-able <3
Simple game driven by puzzles. Reminds me of Samorost and other fans of that series will probably enjoy this too! Colourful, fun art style with little to no direction given. Not much else to say other than it was an enjoyable puzzle experience :).
Charming with a great soudtrack, but very repetative. I normally love these types of games, but I found the controls frustrating and the world itself too simple (and somewhat bland). Too bad as I would have loved to play this game for many more hours. I never finished it (played for about 4 hours), so perhaps it gets better later in the game.
If you can get this game to run you are rewarded with a very shallow game. Going from planet to planet seeing the same structures and ecology with (very) slight variations. Creatures move around in circles aimlessly for the most part. Other alien beings in the game are completely shallow and end up basically being a way to restore health/shield or trade. I was going to wait out to review this game until they released their free DLC, but I've recently found out that the dev has changed his mind. DLC may require future purchases! So I spent $60 on an empty game and will have to continue to pay more if I want to have anything to do in it? Really disgusting....
This game was obviously made with effort and love! It is true that you won't be spending 40 hours in this game, but I had fun with it for about 12 hours which is fine for a $10 game (price may vary for others)! This game has fun roleplay and character development mechanics. Although, I found it frustrating that certain events could only be triggered with certain character traits (ex. "Only a foolish person would tamper with this"). It seemed like a cool idea, but got frustrating when I could never find those events when I finally had the proper traits. I would have preferred if events just played out differently depending on your character. Soundtrack is simple, but enjoyable and never felt repetitive. Art style is really great and the random generation flows nicely! Easy to jump in and start a game which is refreshing. Overall enjoyable experience, but not something that I will rave about for months. In my opinion worth a try if you've got the money.
If you enjoy puzzles it's worth a buy! Art is really endearing and the soundtrack is cheerful (albeit a bit repetitive at parts). Very little of the puzzles require you to wander around looking for an object for your inventory, which was really refreshing! I got particularly stumped on one puzzle so I consulted the in game "Handy Manual" and it's got such a great design. You have to figure out a mathematical problem to find the page your puzzle clues are located on (or flip through about 900 pages). It makes me feel a lot less cheap for getting help with a puzzle :)! Overall well made game that the designers obviously enjoyed making!
