Anyone who enjoyed the old (and very different depending on the port) 2D games will be in for a treat here. What the developers have achieved here is a masterpiece. A game that has a flow, modern elements, and its own ideas, yet still has plenty of references to various Ninja Gaiden games of the past. Even short sections of levels from the Game Boy version can be found. It took me a good 12 hours to complete the story (61% achievements); a few bosses require a bit of practice. Now I'm looking forward to the HARD MODE, which is very reminiscent of the NES era. So the journey continues. Thanks!
Back in time I loved the game in EGA and was kind of concerned when I read about an "HD remake". In fact the modernisation is done very careful and with love. The core of the game stays intact. I had big FUN playing it again - now with optional music...yeah
I played for about 1,5h so far and managed to solve mission 1 in the second run - not more, not less. I had no bugs, no crashes - It looks good, it it plays well - I like the speed of the game and felt moderately entertained. Nothing about the game felt new or special, but I also found nothing bad about it. For a price of 14€ okay for me. So if you think about buying the game - don't expect much depth. If you're okay with a kind of nice casual experience for some days (probably) than I would recommend to buy it =)
I'm a huge fan of the ideas of the old ultima games. A coulourful (!) world to explore, combined with some meta-philosophical themes, that's really what got me hooked back in the days and now once more. lots of these good ideas are to be found in this game for a new. Adding many many new ideas and mechanics- But this time without clunky controls. So...to make it quick, original sin 2 is the best rpg I (!) played since the good old days. It's the best ultima game that Richard Garriott himself was not able to produce ... :-)
