Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness

Promising CRPG Inspired by Pillars

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is so far an interesting CRPG that is certainly inspired by the classics like Baldur's Gate, but immediately, at least from the conversation UI, gave me heavy Pillars of Eternity vibes, which is a plus for me. The story so far, at least for me, is engaging, although I'm only a little over an hour in. The combat is real time with pause, which isn't my preference, but it's enjoyable. I've only experienced one major bug so far, which was if I died in the first combat encounter and had to reload my save to before then, the game wouldn't proceed. One thing I would like to improve is to have more information about what things do in the game with tooltips. Other than that, I'm enjoying the game, and it's at a good price right now.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Exceeded all Expectations

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a game that I went in with no real expectations about the game. I saw from reviews that the game seemed good, and decided to give it a try, thinking that I would like it, but maybe not finish it right away. I finished it in two days. It is a wonderful experience broken apart into chapters, where you go through the journey of Amicia, Hugo, and other people they find along the way trying to survive in medieval Europe. It took me around 11 hours to finish the game, and that wasn't with finding all of the collectibles. The atmosphere in the game can go from forboding to hopeful, and from dangerous to suspensful with teh change of a scene. The main draw of the game is certainly the story, but the gameplay is solid, albeit not likely the main reason you play the game.

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut

An Incredible RPG

I was unsure of Disco Elysium when I first bought it to be honest. I had heard nothing but praise for the game, but was slightly apprehensive before I started playing it. Was I wrong about that apprehension. Disco Elysium is an incredible game with an intriguing narrative that gripped me from the second it began along with a unique and beautiful art style and a great soundtrack. The narrative is the main selling point of the game, and it works very well in my opinion. It is unique and far different from more traditional RPGs and it takes inspriation from the works of philosophers and political thinkers. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to delve further into the CRPG genre or is intrigued by what Disco Elysium is. + An incredibly captivating narrative right from the beginning + Great soundtrack and artistic style (personal taste) + Has a large variety of personality in its cast of characters + Unique setting for the CRPG genre - Has A LOT of text (personal taste)
