Choose missions, get paid, upgrade your vehicle, progress in the story. Just an arcade shooter with a pretty cool vibe. - You CAN customize keybindings contrary to one review i read. - Only works in traditional 4:3 resolution because the ships HUD is partially off-screen in 16:9.
Imagine Hitman: Codename 47 invading Nazi Germany. If you like the original Hitman games you should like this too. The first mission throws you in the deep end but once you learn the scope, it's darn good fun. It's challenging but not unforgiving. Runs well, gameplay is solid, graphics are decent, audio's nice, atmosphere is great. It's a good spy game, no hand holding. Save often.
I played this for a couple of hours when I was super young and was really impressed. Now i'm playing it properly for the first time and because of the nostalgia i find its age charming. The music is very nice, graphics are a little rough around the edges, obviously. The gameplay reminds me of 'Heroes of Might & Magic' or 'Lords of the Realm 2' crossed with 'Baldurs Gate'? Which I loved as a kid. I'm enjoying this. They just don't make modern games like they used to which is why i mostly play older stuff.
-The overall sound and art design is impressive for it's time. -Special shout out for the MUSIC, it's seriously really good. -There is a deep strategy game here, try to manage your territories and attempt to conquer the map. -Engage in real time battles with armies that you have recruited from your towns. -This might actually be the Grandfather of the Total War series? Tips ( i'm struggling to win myself): - In combat you can group your soldiers using cntrl + # - You can slow down the game speed in the options menu at top of screen - Other than that, you're on your own lol It's well worth the price in my humble opinion, especially if it's on sale. Definitely a Good Old Game.
+ The campaign of Warcraft 2 slowly evolves and increases in difficulty as you progress. There is no difficulty option. + Great warcraft music, if you've played Hearthstone (maybe WoW) you'll recognise some of the tunes. + decent RTS gameplay. - Just be aware the AI needs hand holding at times and that's the biggest frustration. - Warcraft is a well loved franchise but in 1995? Command & Conquer did it much better :P :) :) For any RTS fan young or old, this is pretty much where it all began so it's well worth enjoying. Like i said the campaign evolves nicely. It's pushing 25 years of age so considering this, it's easily a 5 star game. Still iconic.
