Chroma Squad

Mediocre RPG

My biggest problem with the game is easily the writing, which is hard to go into any large details without major spoilers. The biggest problem for me with this would have to be the game's humor, although not nearly as annoying or obvious as Borderlands 2, it's still annoying to have to fight a giant duck with muscular arms talking about how science hasn't gone far enough. There's an obvious, however major, plot twist near the end of the game that made it much harder for me to enjoy the plot, as it isn't nearly as fun as it was before said twist. Another problem I had with the writing is how despite being a TV show, the characters are almost never in character. It's hand waved in that they do post editing, but there's still no option to at least see it. The combat is okay for me, it's simple yet fun, however on the normal difficulty the game is almost insultingly easy, with hard mode being completely unfair. The game advertises the acrobatics as a major feature, although I only ever used it to get my characters into the fight faster, at least the team attacks are much bigger, with me using them whenever I could. The game itself, despite advertising itself as an RPG, barely has any RPG elements. One of them being able to chose which skill each character has (which can be switched in between levels) where you can chose which ability each character gets, most of them either do very little, or are outfight harmful, worst case being the medic's skill that makes all healing skills do damage instead. One more thing, I know this has been probably patched out by now, but the game locked up for me twice on the final level, I never bothered to check if it really was patched or not because I don't want to do the level again, and have it lock up once again.
