Don't judge a book by it's cover; this game's actually SOLID! In a world in it's disagreements, you have to try to make sense of a world with different factions. Notable ones that aren't the bigger evil include the Orcs, the Villagers, the King, the Inquisition, and the Adventurer's Guild. In this game, you are secretly trying to take down the GREATER of two evils; the "Lord of Evil". (Of whom appears to be an obvious homage to Lord Voldemort from the "Harry Potter" franchise, although having a distinct design of his own.) And to do that? You need to set up your school building, in EVERY level. Including your houses, different rooms with various features for education in magic, and things to go in it, to boost it's effects! It's a bit tricky, but DON'T BE FOOLED; if you're a die-hard "Harry Potter" fan, and you like school management games? This one's for you!
Granted, while the game's sense of humor and overall gameplay concept is GREAT? The game feels a bit slow and confusing; even to the point where I try not to lose too much money, at once. (Even on the EASY difficulty.) I feel that for effort? It's a great basic idea that needs more work.
First of all, I feel that the quests could use a tracking arrow (at least as an optional gempaly feature) for those that get lose on quests or map design. Secondly, the mechanic of dying of old age, only to let one of your kids take over during the next generation? A GREAT idea! (But I'm not sure if the gameplay mechanic has been implemented yet, but it should be done, in the future, if it hasn't already. Third, one thing I would suggest other than that, would be to add more playable races of people bESIDES humans...just to make the game more interesting! Lastly? I feel that it doesn't feel enough of a proper "sandbox" style video game. I mean, what about customizing and re-aranging buildings in your farm? Or maybe be allowed to name & make a few NPCs on the side, even? Don't get me wrong; this farming simulator has an EXCELLENT basic idea, with PHENOMENAL potential; even having beautiful soundtrack and nice pixelated graphics, too All I'm saying is, this is a video game that still needs work!!
I admit; while this video game is good stupid fun, it's very imbalanced, and I feel that it's more for casual gamers, that want something to laugh about. Don't get me wrong; "Streets Of Rogue" is good silliness, that's hard to take seriously! But for my money? It's not worth spending more than 5 US dollars, just to play it! The game is imbalanced, even to the point where the Cop class is the most OVERPOWERED of all playable classes!
The basic idea of this game, being like "Stardew Valley", but with running a graveyard, AND helping out with turning things like witch-hunting into capitalism? Not a bad idea, for a game, that's a mix between business management and action RPG! However, the unfortunate news is, it's far too slow paced, it's too confusing, and for effort? I believe that it's not worth your money. Want a better game, for $19.99? You can buy a BETTER video game. Otherwise? With that much money, I'd be more satisfied, with SPENDING it on a third-party game controller!
Look; the PS2 version of this game? It's actually DECENT! But the PC version? IT DOES NOT WORK! (Believe me; I tried booting it up, and it wouldn't even START.) My advice? DON'T buy this version. Instead, get a working PS2, and buy yourself copy, of "Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness", for the PS2; I guarantee you that it's MUCH worth your time, compared to this! If it actually WORKED well, AND supported the option of a USB or bluetooth gamepad? I would have called this a decent video game, and given it AT LEAST 3/5 stars, for a rating!
Let's face it; the first two "Dungeon Siege" games are pretty bad. As for the third one? It's alright; it does however, feel like a cheap ripoff of "Diablo III", however. My advice? While "Dungeon Siege III" is alright, you're better off spending your money, on "Diablo III"; it's got better gameplay, and more replay value!
THE WORST STEALTH-BASED VIDEO GAMe, THAT I'VE EVER PLAYED...TOO FRUSTRATING AND CONFUSING, that it makes being a lazy couch potato look like FUN! Not only is this game SHAMEFUL, but it's an absolute waste of money, and even worse; the game is in NO WAY, EASY. (The game's diffuculty settings are a LIE.) Yeah...if I was a parent? I'd rather let my kids play the "Halo" video game series!
Out of some respect to the game's develoeprs; THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE! This also was SO confusing, that it gave me an UGLY feeling, that made me feel SO STUPID, that it made me want casual video games, in place of this. Between this and ANY video game on the Phillips CD-i...I'd think you're better off with games, such as "Hotel Mario" and the CD-i "Zelda" games, that are non-canon! It's THAT shameful. So run....RUN AWAY...DO NOT BUY THIS GAME...you're better off buying a VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER, INSTEAD....it doesn't hurt to let others join in on the fun, for multiplayer video games, or have a backup for fun, anyway!
