Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat

Everything works fine for me!

Game works perfectly fine for me. I'm surprised so many people has problems with it. I'm using Windows 7 x64, and didn't even have to run the game in compatibility mode. - Game interface is just terrible - I think it's the worst interface I ever seen in game. You need to do everything with your mouse! Interface covers 2/3 of the screen - you just see little window in top left corner with units and map. Because of that, it's a nightmare to give units orders, it's just so bad you can't imagine before you try it! + There are plenty of missions. I think there's at least 30-40 missions in this game, and game isn't too linear. You have to choose your own path to destination, which is just brilliant feature comparing to Dark Omen. But, because of terrible interface, I didn't have a will to check all possibilities. - Units fights are very random. Sometimes you attack enemy in exactly same way and win without loses, win with few loses, lose or your unit is going to panic and is destroyed instantly. Fights are very unpredictable and often frustrating. + You can replenish your troops only in bigger cities and still those reinforcements are limited, which is cool feature compared to Dark Omen. - Magic is very badly made. You don't even know the range of spells! Sometimes you hit your friendly unit when it stands too close to your casting mage. + There are plenty of units - all the time units come for few battles and then go. The path you chose affect this cycle. I just loved this, it's so interesting! - You can't change magic items on your units - whoever picked up the item, will have it till the end. + It's a prequel of Dark Omen, one of the best strategy game ever in my opinion. Checking why Dark Omen became so amazing game (devs got all the experience needed to do amazing game from SotHR) was surely great feeling and I don't regret it at all! Overall the game is worth to play, but only if you are a huge fan of Dark Omen. If you are not, then better play Dark Omen instead!
