Blackwood Crossing

Good story.

Interesting little story. A bit shorter than I'd like and mildly annoyed that the 'screenshots's aren't really that at all - the protagonist is shown in full in the above images, but she's only really visible in window reflections while in-game. - It's entirely first-person. The various visual effects were well done, and the story well written. Definitely recommend.

Dark Fall 3: Lost Souls

Disappointing

After having just finished Dark Fall 1 & 2, which I really liked, I started playing 3. I'm not going to finish it. First of all, the setting. it's the same as the 1st game, even including the same 'villain', it seems, but very clearly an entirely new universe. So many details have changed, and the first game story clearly had it so that the whole site would be renovated and/or rebuilt soon. This clearly didn't happen here. Really immersion breaking when at every new area something is just "wrong". Wrong place, wrong details, things competely out of place, things missing, etc... Movement. So slow now! The new 3D world is niceish, but it means that transitions between sections are so much slower. No longer just instantlly moving, you slowly turn, you slowly walk forward. Ugh. And finally, what really killed it for me is the addition of timed puzzles. I hate them. A lot. I was still figuring out a certain puzzle I came accross and suddenly game over. I'm returned to just before the puzzle, at least, but I quit and wrote this. Next step is to uninstall.

The Samaritan Paradox

Good start, but...

While mostly a good game and story, however I have a real issue with part of it. Without going into detail, and thus spoilers, I'll say that the first two parts of the quest were good and made logical sense and could be expected to be solved under normal circumstances. The third and final part, however, had many variables that had to line up just right for it to be possible to complete, and therefore not a logical puzzle that would/could have been set up. I removed 2 stars for this.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

I find it frustrating...

That I die almost immediately without doing significant damage to the enemy in any real battle. Perhaps I lack skill, but this pretty much has turned me off the game entirely after a half dozen attempts going nowhere.
