Gods Will Fall - Valiant Edition

Comprimised by implementation of control

The game for its artistic style alone is worth looking at and the enemies are interesting and well done. Further I want to say the game design itself is very good. However, the game will be completely unapproachable for many people due to the controls and parrying interaction. The controls that move the character and initiate attacks at times can feel completely unresponsive and will frustrate the player. One of the bigger hurdles is the parrying mechanic which is absolutely vital to navigating the large levels to arrive at the boss in good health as it is the most reliable way to regenerate health. Parrying appears to be inconsistently implemented between enemy types. You are suppose to parry by dodging toward an enemy when their attack glows and is also not red but it seems to often not trigger the parrying animation and instead you get caught in a chain of attacks taking out the majority of your health. Some enemies seem to have different triggering times separate from the display of the shining effect.

The Riftbreaker: Prologue

I'm going to buy this

This game feels nostalgic to some older alien world computer games. It is an alien swarm shooter with resource, base mangement, tower defense, crafting, and more. The style, graphics, and game play are solid. The only demerits of this demo is the lack luster crafting in the escape menu that can easily be seen as more of a conceptual feature right now. However, as this is a demo before their alpha it serves as a great showcase of the game as well as being fun to play too. I finished the demo twice. The first time was a surprise as I kited for my life but the second time I was prepared and had my mega base with artillery towers decimating the boss waves only to slowly fade to black.
