Grew up with the OG. On a recent trip home me and the bros booted this up to play with Dad. He initially balked and asked for something more modern (I guess he forgot we played a ton growing up), but 2 innings in I offered and he said "no' this is good". We must have played 8 games back to back. Please release this on consoles as well, what a fun time!
This game was on my radar for a long time but I hesitated until now and wish I had have given it a go sooner. This game is a fun and breezy playthrough. The dual energy system is a neat gameplay mechanic and the puzzles are not cumbersome, introducing new ideas at decent clip so things don't get stale. The bittersweet mood that runs through the story and some of the thematic content reminds me of the Gaia trilogy, which I adored growing up (the act transitions must be a nod to Terranigma). Probably my favorite thing I've played so far in 2022.
Game I enjoyed from my childhood, never thought I would see this here. Thanks Ziggurat! I played this along with Silent Service 2 back in the day. While SS2 is probably objectively better I enjoyed this one more as a videogame. This one is more arcadey (in the relative sense) so I think it might have aged better than some of the stricter sims which have been surpassed by newer releases. How many other sub games have this much Sub on Fighter action?
