I bought this game because Jedi Academy is one of my favorite old games. but this one didn't really live up to my expectations. The game starts slow, for hours you won't even see a lightsaber or use the force and these levels can be quite irritating. Also, the brightness adjusting bar didn't work if I launched the game from the gog app and the game was very dark, but starting it in XP compatibiliy mode fixed this. Then I was getting into the better part of the game, when I bought a newer grapics card (before I had an Nvidia, bought an AMD). After this, the brightness adjusting did work, but the cursor didn't diasppear in game. I've read many forums about this issue but nothing helped so I uninstalled the game. So from a personal experience, this title doesn't run flawlessly on either Nvidia nor AMD cards, on the later it being unplayable.
First of, 18 years are a lot as you can see after installing this game. It has it's charms though. But the story is ageless, it's great. There are a few things that I didn't like. The minimap is quite useless, sometimes I got stuck on the map especially when there are NPCs around (dead or alive). The police are very aggressive. You do 41 in a 40 mph zone and the whole city is going to be after you, and this kinda makes fast and nice cars obsolete. But the mosz aged thing is the aiming mechanism. If you can get used to it you'll love this game. What I liked though were the 17 hours 47 minutes that I played. It made me angry a few times but it's a generally likable game. Be warned though that it's a hard game and you'll most likely die more than you want.
I always loved the main storyline and gameplay. But on this playthrough the game kept crashing almost every time I opened a garage. The DLCs arent that good sadly. They lack the same storytelling. And I haven't been this angry at a game than when I played Joe's adventures. Seriously masochist missions there.
