I love the story and although the gameplay might be a bit rough sometimes, it was nothing really serious... Really recommend to everyone who loves stories about good old dystopian digital totality and freedom fighters trying to break it...
I just dont get it, why there are people who gave this game bad rating just because GOG made some mistake with the release... its not changing the quality of this game in any way... and this game is epic...
I can remember, when I was kid, I always wanted to play this game, just because its name was so exciting... Maybe it was good I didnt, because it could have left some long-term issues... :D but I dont know why I didnt play it later and came back it to just now... and I can say, even with the game being quite old in those days, it is so amazing... the thrilling stories of every character, all the voice-acting and even the graphic, which is old but very nice for its days and last but not least all the hints taken from encyclopedies, Bible and other books... this is pure jewell for every person who loves adventure games, great story and horror atmosphere...
From first look, this looks like something I was waiting for, for years... Since X-COM, Spellcross and Fallen Heaven, I dont remember a decent turn-based sci-fi tactical game... well there was Battle for Wesnoth, but thats fantasy, so it doesnt count... and... this game looks just like it... My rating is more an expectation, but I cant help myself to express my joy :)
This could be quite nice game, everything looks really nice, but just until you get to interface and controls... which is pretty horrible and it ruined the game for me totally... Like WTH does it mean that part of the keys cannot be changed? The control over the units is kinda clumsy, and this add another level of disappointment, that you cannot change to make it at least a bit better... Also the AI of your own units is pretty bad, I would expect, that if I tell sniper "fire at will" he wont be staying behind the tree and getting himself encircled by nazi soldiers... awful...
Project IGI was a great game, and I loved it... now this IGI 2 is such a crap, and I totally regret spending money for it... just the first level is totally messed up, do they realy think that game will be better, if they do bigger maps full of nothing? No real changes in graphics, intros to levels were freezing, boring game play... Dont buy it if you liked Project IGI...
