Came for Rasputin; stayed for Wiktor and the overall fun, gripping and engaging gameplay. This game nails the combat, music, dialogue and narrative masterfully; only failing at exploration, which is a dull series of right-clickings. Nonetheless, still a solid 9,5/10. I wish there were more gems like this.

Whilst I ultimately ended up refunding The Oregon Trail (not because I didn't like it; but because I was not interested, at all, in the Native American-focused narrative in comparison to the OG), it's insane how a well-crafted game like this can get an overall rating of 2.9/5. This game OOZES charm. The music is gorgeous. Characters are creative. It was a classic modernized in the best way possible and it DOES justify the pricing.

The atmosphere in this game feels truly like a horror movie and does a phenomenal job of portraying the succubi as not only sexy and alluring; but actually intimidating. It's a game before being just "fap" material. And it's a good one. The only real flaw is the "tell, don't show" kind of approach; the death scenes drag on for WAY too long and there's WAY too much texts describing sex. A little more "showing" and less "telling" goes a long way.

The game is indeed short; but there's such a thing as "short and sweet". This isn't it. The game: > Is quite a hassle to get through. Not because it's difficult, but because "game over" screens are plentiful, last forever and can't be directly skipped (you can only hold CTRL to speed it up, but the game has so much of the "tell, not show" approach that even this lasts a while). > Has beautiful pixel art animations when getting caught; but it's overshadowed by how abnormal and overly-fetisihized each scene truly is. It's so over-the-top that it doesn't feel like sex at any point, more like one of those weird R34 fetishes of a pregnant Sonic eating Tails. And this is no exaggeration. If you're into that, this game is for you. If not, don't buy it, 90% of the game is exactly this. > Is not really fun. Games like Karryn's Prison, Succubus Forest and, heck, even this game's rich cousin Succubus Prison have already proven H games can be fun. This is subjective for sure, but Succubus Farm is largely a walking simulator. > The succubi are too far into the "childlike with MASSIVE breasts"-trope to feel threatening or sexual at all; even their voices are like that of children. It's weird and a turn-off. I wanted to like this game so bad as, visually, it's mostly impressive (despite how uncanny the non-sprite arts are tbh), but it disappoints too much.

What this game does, it does well. But holy-fish-moly, you need an iron will to keep playing it. I gave up midway since it's so unnecessarily difficult. And i'm mostly fine with difficult games; I've played Darkest Dungeon and Drova: Forsaken Kin, games similar to this one that are also difficult. HOWEVER. This game seems to enjoy f#cking you in the a## for no reason moreso than any of these others. The difficulty here adds nothing and is just there for the sake of it — and that was playing on the "easiest" difficulty... ... That is, it was difficulty until I chugged a ton of options and face-tanked everything to their death. But as someone that likes stealthing (which is useless in this game) and dislikes depending on potions, it was unsatisfying. I would not refund or give it a lesser score though, since what this game does, it does really well² (like preying on masochists). And the music? Dear lord, it's so lovely. Amongst the best. 4/5, maybe? It left me sore.

Came from "My Lovely Wife", thinking this was going to be even better. Sadly, wasn't the case. The game has a great foundation - an emperor in charge of managing his empire, dealing with diplomacy (whilst flirting) as well as the moral dilemma of ressurrecting your wife even if it means dooming your very nation. Unfortunately, as far as I played (3hrs+), this is all overshadowed by massive, massive amounts of grinding for resources on non-ending repetitions. The gameplay loops feels... bland. Lifeless. Even when dealing with other nations, you still do the exact same thing you do on your own nation; grind for resources and numbers. The entire game is such a massive grindset that it heavily detracts from the tragic story it's trying to tell. If you're fine with a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of grinding, this game is just nice. If not, it's simply frustrating.
