Overload - Community Level Pack

Average at best

This first DLC map pack is a very average experience. Several of these maps are short, simple, and uninspired, and the whole 'campaign' feels exactly like what it is--a series of individual fan maps strung together and sold for a few dollars. These maps are noticeably poorer than the original campaign, and can't stand next to the Anniversary Map Pack which came later. For how cheap the whole set goes, of course grab this and spend a few hours on it--but keep your expectations lowered with this map pack.

Overload - Anniversary Level Pack

Good campaign that ties it all together

The original Overload was pretty solid, but then the first DLC campaign fell pretty flat with some bland and simple levels. This second DLC campaign is a solid improvement over the first DLC campaign, and adds on nicely to the original game's campaign. For the handful of fans who care about the Descent and Overload stories, this map pack's story is also the official bit of narrative that clearly ties the two universes together and shows how Overload serves as a prequel to Descent. In this map pack, you a Material Defender working for the PTMC, and through this brief campaign you will see how the leftovers from Overload's campaign lead into the original Descent's storyline. Good stuff. Well worth playing.

Overload

Descent 4 in all but name

A quasi-prequel to the original Descent series--from many of the original developers. The game has plenty of content, and lots of fun to be had. Well worth it!
