Malwarebytes detects Flatout.exe as Malware. Outside of this, the game is very playable on Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10/11.
I bought this game originally to play it on a dedicated retro PC. But playing this on both a Windows 11 Super-Rig, as well as a Windows 7 / Windows XP retro machine, this game is horribly optimized for all 3 OS's. On top of that, you're given no instruction, no guidance, the game is poorly lit so it's hard to see what you're doing.... blah blah blah. I could go on complaining about this game, but let the other reviews show you what not to spend your money on, too.
I purchased this game specifically to use it on legacy hardware, and it works fine on WinXP and Win7 in 2025.
I purchased this game to use it on Windows XP in 2025, and it indeed works fine. The OS is a limiter, though, as dual booting on the same hardware to Windows 7 yields slightly snappier gameplay.
