I've been playing this since release, still got the battered, original CD and manual. The game set a great many templates and solutions later used as inspiration eg in the Total War series. To this day, there isn't really a game in the category that would scratch that steam age itch. Could have aged a little better, but if one looks past such issues (screen resolution) - it remains mighty enjoyable.
Still needs a little work - mostly in terms of enemy ship variety. Might have slight performance/optimization issues. Nevertheless I am finding it a competent successor to the Silent Hunter series. Definitely scratches the same itch those venerable titles did. The devs are on the right course, now just need to keep at it.
