This is a nice story, an interesting interactive piece of visual novel ... of sorts. Its not a very game game. The constrols feel sluggish, you are literally draging your character around the island and sometimes you feel like they are not even doing that. Well ... there is not much more to say really. Its a nice stroy basically without gameplay.
This piece of software hardly fills the expectation of "game". Its story is, almost not there, and the precious little there is is smeard across such a vast space its almost non-existent. The control are sort-of weird, strangely imprecise and inconsistent. It runs weirdly too, weird hiccups appear, often resulting in fall to the abyss. The whole world feels like a linear coridor with emty areas stuck to it and every game mechanic feels the same. <tl;dl> DONT buy this game, its broken, boring and not worth your time.
Firewatch is rather short in its story. But at the same time its long enough to convey everything that needs to be conveyed. The two protagonists are well flashed out and their voiceacting is well done. As for the game aspects of this game? I am rather reluctant to call this a game. I have not run to a failure state (and I am a terrible gamer). Its more of a interactive storry told by iteractions between to people and the world. All in all, if you are in a mood for not overly long, down to earth story of everyday people that are running away, go for this game. For the right mood, right time and right person, this game is gold.
