Silent Hill 4: The Room

My Favorite Silent Hill

A lot of people seem to have misgivings about this game, and whether it's a "true" Silent Hill. Ultimately, I don't think there is such a thing, as this series is best when it's a horror anthology and less about one foggy town. All the ties to the main series, like James's father and the cult, are fun. But ultimately, this game stands well on its own merits of being a cool, weird, supernatural story. The combat isn't great for an action game, but for a Silent Hill it's honestly the best. Where this game shines is in its story and atmosphere. If you're looking for a solid horror game, I can't recommend too many games more than this one. This PC version has some issues, but they're failrly minor. *NOTE* As of this review, there was a windows update that ruined certain cutscenes in the game. The only fix I know is to roll back to before the August 2025 KB5064081 update for Windows. Hopefully a fix is coming.

Resident Evil

A pretty good port of a stellar game

It makes the original version of Resident Evil (PC port) work on modern machines without an issue. It's a great way to play this classic game. A few modernizations could have been made to help, namely with keybinding and controller support, but overall it's a great way to play one of the best horror games to do it.

Resident Evil 3

Great classic, Few port issues

The game is a total blast to play, and holds up well if you don't mind the older RE style. It's a lot more fast paced than the previous games, but it's a unique experience all the same. The port is good, but a few issues exist. There's no real keybinding, so you're stuck with the controller settings built in. It's kind of weird for a PC port, but then again this is a game from 24 years ago.
