Whenever you see a review of Dusk, it always seems like its a god-send. An amazing retro FPS that no one can hate. Well, they're not wrong. It really is a cool game. Wonderful aesthetic and a lot of intense action. Its fun no doubt. Just not as fun as I expected it to be. The world building felt... minimal. I'm the kind of player who loves learning about the world I'm playing in, but that just wasn't happening here. I was just shooting my foes and rushing to the end of the levels while trying to find a few small secrets. Sure there's some joy when it comes to random shooting action, but its just not my cup of tea. I like a little more time to slow down and take in the environments. Have the story unfold a bit more. Dusk is a good game, but I don't expect it to be for everyone. Don't get sucked into the hype like I was. I expected it to amazing, but its just okay.

This game is really not much more than a walking sim. Its really short and basic. The only thing it really has going for it, is its story and its a good story. I really like the story, but the way its delivered is kinda "meh". Its definitely not a bad game, but its certainly not amazing. Its really just so-so. I mean, if you're into walking sims and you like coming out stories, its definitely an enjoyable experience. I was fortunate enough to get it for free, but if you do wanna buy it, get it on sale and only on sale.

There was so much potential in the beginning of this game. The story seemed interesting and solid and I thought the choices were meaningful. All that gets thrown out at the ending. SPOILER ALERT: There's only one ending and its just... bad. I don't like it. Perhaps its fitting for a "dark story" to have a dark ending, but as a visual novel of sorts I feel like my efforts were wasted. What is the point of making choices if none of them matter? It honestly made me feel disgusted and angry. I actually don't even own the game here. I bought it on Steam, gave it a negative review there and decided to give a negative review here too because of how angry this game made me. I wasted my money on this game, and I don't want anyone else to do the same.

Whispers of a Machine was a really fun experience for me. The point and click gameplay was easy to grasp and there is the ability to get certain unique powers depending on certain choices you make which adds a little bit of replay value. The puzzle aspect was well designed to me; Not too complex that you're going crazy trying to solve things, but not spoon-feeding you everything as well. The only thing I was a little upset about was that certain mechanics were introduced and only used once or twice which made them feel a little unnecessary in the grand scheme. The plot is a simple, but interesting murder mystery situation. If you've ever scene Blade Runner then you'll be familiar with a lot of themes discussed in this game. Its not something incredibly profound but its certain enjoyable and gives you a few things to think about. All and all, its a very pleasing game. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you love Point and Click style games or Blade Runner/Cyberpunk themed stories.
