It's the first time I've played a game like this, and I approached it differently. It took me back to high school, really, and the first time I felt the stirrings of love. It's not really the type of thing I usually play, but I went back and got the first Life is Strange after I finished this one. I like this one much better. Perhaps you have to be in the mood for a slower pace. It was more like reading. I was totally engrossed in the story and the music. In one scene, "I" just sat in the train, listening to the music and watching the scenery go by for a least five minutes. I can say I've never done that before.
What I mean by that, is all these years later, I STILL remember getting up and pacing before I made a decision. Who to believe? What's the best thing to do? I was totally transported back when this game first came out. It has to rank as one of my all time best gaming experiences. In fact, I'm playing it again and surprised by how much of it I actually remember 12 years later. It makes it so much deeper than a typical game if you care about the characters. What an accomplishment. And of course, I've since read most of the books and I'm genuinely excited about the Netflix series. I hope they do the tales justice.
