Volgarr the Viking

It is a Madness

The graphics are charming and the controls feel good. The biggest downfall is the absurd difficulty. It seems to me that the developers wanted to make their game so difficult just to be more badass. Playing should be about fun, and I love challenging games from the good old days and Souls-like games are great, but this is just unfair. Save points are so rare, and with every enemy contact, the hero loses abilities. As a result, every mistake is doubly punished. I don't need an easy mode, but why does the game only give you an ultra-hard mode? Basically, you learn a level by heart through many deaths, memorizing exactly when to press each button. There isn't much room for deviation. And once you've perfectly memorized the level, then you move on to the next section. The game gives you very little for this frustration, which is why only the most perseverant players will have seen level 2 or beyond. It's a pity.

Door Kickers: Action Squad

Great action and soundtrack

Great action. It's so much fun to explore each level. The many heroes, weapons, and equipment keep it challenging and never boring. I really like the pixel graphics. But the best thing is the really good soundtrack. It doesn't get any better than that.

Banished

Great city builder with survival part

A terrific city-builder. Survival is not easy and the complexity is surprisingly high. As a beginner, you should be prepared to start from the beginning more often, because you will not survive the winter. Once you get the hang of it, there's something missing for long-term motivation. The city gets bigger and bigger, and eventually takes care of itself. I had a lot of fun.

Unepic

Great Indie Game

One of my favorite games. The humor is great, The story is sufficient and exploring the castle is a lot of fun. The precision in the jumps is not perfect and sometimes the control does not feel perfect. But when you get used to it, it's fine. There is so much love in this game. 100% recommendation

Legend of Grimrock 2

It gets to big

It's still a Legend of Grimrock and has its qualities. The graphics and other details have been improved compared to the first part. At the same time, the game has lost the most important thing: the atmosphere. It lacks the oppressive feeling. Everything is so big and confusing. The puzzles are too many and sometimes too confusing. I never know where I'm supposed to go and end up reading the guides because it's too frustrating. I haven't played through it and prefer to play LoG 1.

Legend of Grimrock

Great Dungeon Experience

The game wanted to bring old school dungeon crawler to life back then. Now it's even 10 years old again. how time flies. Long story short: the game is great. The classes, the mazes, the story that is cleverly told. Legend of Grimrock manages to create an exciting atmosphere. It's better than LoG 2.

Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

Truly a Good Old Game

Deus Ex is a masterpiece. One of the best games ever made. Great story, great gameplay and on top: a near perfect implementation of RPG elements.

Craft The World

Big Disappointment

Alle the promising gameplay elements sound like a lot of fun but ends up with big dissapointments. The battle against the enemies are repetitive, the promised tower defence experience is a joke, and the biggest issue comes with the stupid AI. Even a first stage zombie in Diablo acts like a genius mastermind compared to your dwarfs. Don't waste your money and time on this game.
