RimWorld

The game is cool, but...

Well, the game is nice, especially if you love micromanagement. But I can give the game only 3 of 6 stars. Reason: the colonists AI is completely stupid and buggy. The problem here is, that the game is intended as a permadeath experience, when a colonist dies, they died for good. Unfortunately, the colonists working towards getting killed every day. Some of my experiences (I don't make them up, all this happened): - I bomb a army of enemy mechs with mortars. My colonist: "Oh, a harvestable plant next to an army of dangerous vicious killer machines in a hail of bombs. Lets go there!" - A colonist can't put an item to the ground. Reason: this colonist is currently carrying this item (no joke). - Colonists get malnourished even with full storage of carnivor, vegetarien and mixed lavish meals available. - I have megascreen TV with seats, Chesstable, Pokertable, Billiardtable, Horseshoes game, 28 books in a bookcase, administered time each day for recreation for each colonist -> colonists get recreation deprived regulary. - Sometimes orders just don't work. Wait a minute, don't change any setting. Then it works. - A husband get his leg severed, creeping on the ground while bleeding to death. His wife standing right next to him: I go now eating something. Rescue yourself. - Sometimes you have to make a special narrow zone around a building ground to force workers working there. Prioritizing work to them doesn't change their priority. - You allow addicted colonists to get their drugs regularly. Sometimes they wont take them and ticking out because of withdrawal. If you can handle things like that, you will love the game. If you play permadeath (like I do, I can't change back), don't hesitate to hit Alt+F4 and reload the autosafe if your colonists kill themself out of pure stupidity (will happen a lot).
