My first review of the game was not favoruable. The introductionary part of the game (before the first big mission, you'll know it when you get there) was not good in my opinion. Howere, once the game gets going it i very good indeed. Not perfect by any means, but I would describe it as a true, modern successor to the original Deus Ex. And that's about as high a praise as I can think of.
Some parts are great, but it shows that this is their first shooter. Generally I find the environments and navigation unclear and confusing which messes up the pacing. Lots of immersion breaking bugs and NPC behaviour. Still enjoying the game, though!
Good game with a modern take on the ever recurring problem of segretation in society. Would give it 5 stars, but it crashes a lot on PC. Had a blast playing it on PS4.
This is an absolute classic, finally playable on modern computers! The music by Jesper Kyd is very good and the mood of the game is surprisingly grim and serious. The game mechanics are simple, but good, and shows that you don't need endless character developments in order to have a good time. Recommended!
I was so ready to love this game. The original Psychonauts is one of my all time favourite games, but I'm afraid this secuel falls short. My main complaint about the game is how lackluster and repetitive the mind delving missions are - which is pretty terrible considering that it should be the definitive highlights of this game series! For each mind you are tasked with performing 3 nearly identical tasks in a row, and then you are finished. Did I mention this is the case for each mind? EACH AND EVERY MIND! It just feels like a chore and has caused me to uninstall the game now for the second time. I can't be bothered to finish it. Some of the minds are pretty great, while others are not. The story is decent enough and one of the reasons why I stuck with it for as long as I did. The old cast is great and the new cast is meh... Especially the other kids are very boring. Lastly: there is too little bacon in this game!
This is without a shadow of doubt the best multiplayer game of all time. The speed, controls, levels, sound and music is just epic. The better than all other games like it, present or past.
The rumours were true, fantastic! If you haven't tried this game and like epic adventures the you should get this game immediately. Looking forward to LBA2!
