This game was my pipe-dream. I still remember the nights I played co-op on servers with others blasting through waves of Skaarj, Krall, and other various monsters. Getting annoyed of stupid, zealous players slaying the Nali for stupid, vague reasons. Relaxing by at the villages and ocean waters when I am alone - something I still do in singleplayer mode to this day. It is an outright shame the way gamers neglect and mistreat this game today. I miss the days and nights when these servers were populated en mass in the 2000s whence GameSpy Arcade once existed, or sparingly in the 2010s after its demise. Nowadays players rarely appear on servers anymore besides a pocket few, and Void knows when the normal periodic times those few arrive - I lost count.
One of the best retro games I ever played.
This game is very overrated and obscure. I have come to enjoy this simple yet addictively fun game. My only gripes is its very weird starting points with the levels, especially the one with the exit sewer - easiest way to die if you were low on HP from the previous level. I wonder if this game is moddable...
