Witch's Rhythm Puzzle

Fun, but a bit empty and gets too hard

The art is really nice with its pixel anime-style graphics. The characters have appealing designs, which makes it all the more disappointing you don't get to see more of them aside from the one graphic per character with different clothing layers. There also isn't much in terms of story, the 3 lines of dialogue between levels barely even mattering. Of course, all this doesn't matter too much if the gameplay absolutely blows your mind. But while it's novel at first, every level basically does the same thing, with sometimes one extra element thrown in there. But what really gets me is that it starts getting really, really difficult toward the end and doesn't really have much to do with rhythm anymore, the beat going so fast and with so many elements in a complex pattern that it feels more like you're playing a reaction game rather than a rhythm game like Rhythm Heaven. It also doesn't help that you can get screwed over by RNG with how the blocks sent to you by your enemy fill up your screen. Since you don't have agency of where your cursor is, you have to sometimes wait a full beat to place one block. And if you're unlucky and need to place 4 blocks all in the same column, you're just outta luck For full disclosure, I didn't make it past the second-to-last stage. Maybe with enough perseverance, I would've managed, but I noticed I just wasn't having fun anymore
