This game is just beautiful. The atmosphere is intense and gritty. The graphics are a perfect blend between ps1 and ps2 graphics with rough pixels. The gameplay is kinda similar to Kingsfield or Lunacid but with more combos, defense options and tactics becasue enemies feint attacks and plan ambushes so you need to learn the combat a bit to get comfortable. You have a very simpel upgrade system but it just works flawlessly. The puzzles are not too hard and just do what they need to make the dungeons more interesting. In my oppinion. In my oppinion the only downside so far is that the bosses are a bit easy and the sometimes fast respawn of enemies. But its only minor flaws. In my oppinion this game is a total must have for any dungeon crawler fan.
Im only about 6 hours into the game but in general i enjoy this game. But its not as good as most other Ys Titels i played so far like Origin, Oath in Felghana, Ys 6 and 7. Music is fine but except a few tracks nothing to special. Combat is pretty much the same like Ys 7 with easier flash guards i think. Overall the bosses and difficulty is very easy so far compared to especially 6 and oath in felghana. Story is also good but not too interesting so far but that can stil change. overall i would recommend the game. It runs on pretty much all PC's right now and looks still pretty decent. If you like Ys or want to have an easy introduction its a good choice i think.
I really enjoyed the game and the immersive mediviel story with alot of twists and turns. Gameplay is a mix between puzzles, stealth and a few action secenes. Controls are working good mostly, except for vaulting. I got most gameovers in this game due to missinputs at climable walls where i instead do a backstep and got caught. But other than this the game is overall really good and looks stil very gorgeous with a fantastic artstyle. Solid 7,5/10
This Game was a big piece of my childhood. The Story is unique and even better, if you played Gothic 1 before. I recommend this game in every aspect.
